European Movies to Ethiopian Audiences
European Union presents a film festival at VADMAS entertainment movies theatre for about 15 days starting from November 1. The event has been organized for over 25 years aiming to make known to different European Union countries cultures through artistic and creative works.Spectators will have the chance to watch 20 award-winning international recognized selected movies from around different European countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, UK and many more. The festival will screen both European and Ethiopian movies which are highly acclaimed for their artistic quality and for their historical or contemporary themes.The head of the delegation of the European Union to Ethiopia, Ambassador Johan Borgstam told Addis Zeybe that the films that will be screened in the festival will showcase the diversity of Europeans.  He kindly recommended one movie called “Wagga girls” targeted at showing the life, challenges, and hardships of mechanic girls live in Burkina Faso. Ambassador John added, “The movie is a good example of European and African co-production and cooperation.”This multi experience package offering event will let audiences to fully enjoy documentary films, historical stories, comedies, and drama of their own preferences. Local audiences can also watch Ethiopian movies hosting and are expected at fostering the good relations between European and Ethiopian peoples.There are also two sessions dedicated explicitly to children movies on Saturday, November 10. The festival is free for its spectators, and all films are shown within the original language with English subtitles.Watch the full interview we had with the Ambassador about the festival.
